I (Taiga) remember helping Korneel & Laurie plan their Bear Mountain Inn wedding from Belgium where they are living. Laurie’s family were all classical musicians and were very particular about the quality & selection of tracks played during the cocktail hour & reception. Korneel’s family & friends hail from Belgium and we incorporated some “hometown” flavor during dinner & dancing. It was a super unique wedding from a music perspective and I had a lot of fun playing conductor for the day!
Welcome to the 2nd installment of my new workout music mix series titled “60 Minute Sweat Session”! Each mix will be approximately 60 minutes long and has a ~8-10 minute warm up & warm down section with the rest powering you through that peak calorie burning period. Volume 2 features some of my favorite pop, nu-disco, R&B, dance & electro remixes from the past year as well as a well timed throwback here and there. If there’s a song you want to hear in the next volume, feel free to send me requests or tweet them @remixologists! Enjoy!
And check out this video of a special listening session I held for my little boy… I think he enjoyed it!

DJ Colin & I (Taiga) were honored to spin White Roof Project’s Paint The Town White Fundraiser in the heart of New York City! We love helping out non-profits organizations raise awareness and serve the community.
With the drinks flowing all night, everyone had a great time as we dropped a set of fun listening music which turned into an impromptu dance party!
Today’s Fan Mail comes from my good friends Eva & Stanley! Stanley and I go back many years to the days of elementary school in our humble beginnings in Southern California. When he asked me (Taiga) if I wanted to DJ his wedding AND be a groomsman, it was a definite YES. I had a blast DJing at their fabulous Los Angeles wedding and even partook in some rounds of shots. Hey… when the groom asks a groomsman to take a shot with him, you do not say no!
Dear Simon (DJ Taiga) –
Thank you so much for coming all the way from Philly to take part in our wedding, for your excellent DJ-Manship, and last but not least, your super awesome friendship! We cannot thank you enough for all of your help, and you & Monica are welcome to crash with us anytime you’re in town. We hope to see you again soon. Until then, have a warm & toasty winter and happy holidays!
We helped Jorge & Donna celebrate their Astra NYC wedding about a year or so ago. Jorge and his groomsmen wore their Barongs (formal shirts from the Philippines) and I (Taiga) incorporated some cultural elements during the reception as well. And who could forget one of their guests, family friend Colin Farrell (yes that Colin Farrell). You can imagine the hysteria that caused among the others guests in the house! Anyways, enjoy these pictures courtesy of Ronald Monteron and check out Jorge’s kind words from his review below.
I hired DJ Taiga (The Remixologists) for my wedding this past weekend, December 1, and he is what the Yelp reviews say about him, an awesome DJ! Since my first contact with him back in July 2012, DJ Taiga (Simon) has been very accommodating and responsive to my emails up to my wedding date. He didn’t mind that I kept emailing him with multiple song requests and amending the wedding schedule, even on my wedding date. He played the right mix of songs from oldies to current stuff. All my guests complemented to me that he was the right DJ for a great wedding. When my special guest, Colin Farrell showed up, DJ Taiga was surprised but he and his staff kept it cool and did not ask to take photos with Colin, that showed me that DJ Taiga was a true professional and I respected him for it.
So Yelpers, if you are getting married soon or have any events coming up that need a a great DJ, contact The Remixologists and ask for DJ Taiga (Simon). He will work with you to make your event vision come true!
