What a honor to have our first wedding featured in Brooklyn Bride & for DJ Colin! Colin helped Jillian & Joe celebrate their 501 Union wedding earlier this summer in good old Brooklyn! Click on the picture below to read and see more from the wedding and how Colin masterfully handled Jillian & Joe’s wide range of musical tastes & aced the “rocktail hour!”
Miles & Laura had been to one of our weddings as guests and soon after signed us to spin their Brooklyn Winery wedding. They were super chill to work with and threw one awesome party! And there are rumors floating around (ok, Miles told me) that I’m (Taiga) known as a “legend” among their group of friends who were there (check the pics… truth) and will be hitting me up when the time comes for their own weddings. LET’S DO THIS!
Check out these amazing pictures courtesy of Clean Plate Pictures and you can check out more on their site! If the pics look familiar, you might have seen the wedding featured on Ruffled Blog!
Every so often we get the opportunity to help people in need & do something cool in the process. Back in December, DJ Mike & myself (Taiga) provided the tunes for Rescue/Revive/Rebuild, a fundraiser for the Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund held at Yard’s Brewing Company in Philadelphia.
Along with food, drinks, brewery tours, and a dope raffle with fellow sponsors Luke’s Lobster, Wired 96.5, and others, we helped raise over $15,000 to help contribute to the fund. And the super cool part for me?… meeting and getting a job well-done from Wired 96.5’s own DJ Bonics (Wiz Khalifa’s Tour DJ & one of my personal favorites), who was the special guest emcee for the night. It was a great night for a great cause! Check out the pictures below for a lovely visual recap.
I (Taiga) remember helping Korneel & Laurie plan their Bear Mountain Inn wedding from Belgium where they are living. Laurie’s family were all classical musicians and were very particular about the quality & selection of tracks played during the cocktail hour & reception. Korneel’s family & friends hail from Belgium and we incorporated some “hometown” flavor during dinner & dancing. It was a super unique wedding from a music perspective and I had a lot of fun playing conductor for the day!
Welcome to the 2nd installment of my new workout music mix series titled “60 Minute Sweat Session”! Each mix will be approximately 60 minutes long and has a ~8-10 minute warm up & warm down section with the rest powering you through that peak calorie burning period. Volume 2 features some of my favorite pop, nu-disco, R&B, dance & electro remixes from the past year as well as a well timed throwback here and there. If there’s a song you want to hear in the next volume, feel free to send me requests or tweet them @remixologists! Enjoy!
And check out this video of a special listening session I held for my little boy… I think he enjoyed it!
